About
In the Summer of 2019, neighbors from the Midway Woods and the Dearborn Heights neighborhoods, with help from Eco-A's Kathryn Kolb, created the Dearborn Area Nature Alliance (DANA) to eradicate invasive plants.
Our first task was identifying invasive plants within Dearborn Park. Volunteers were recruited, work sessions were scheduled and the forest restoration began! Volunteers logged over 40 hours digging up chaff that summer.
In March of 2020, we held a strategy session to come up with a plan for the year. We concentrated on chaff flower during the spring and summer, and switched to stripping and pulling ivy in the fall and winter.
